Pest Control Golden Grove, Protection for Modern Family Homes

Finding rodents in the roof, spiders along the eaves, or ants marching across the

kitchen bench is stressful, especially when you've got kids and pets at home and

you're not sure what's actually safe to use around them. I'm Werner, the local

technician at House Care Pest Control, and I look after Golden Grove homes

personally, the same face every visit, no call centre.

Why Golden Grove homes see the pests they do

Golden Grove is a green, hilly suburb that backs onto Cobbler Creek and the Cobbler Creek Recreation Park, with bushland and reserves never far away. That setting is part of what makes it such a lovely place to live, but it's also a highway for pests. Rodents, spiders and the occasional bee swarm move out of the creek lines and reserves and straight into nearby homes looking for food and shelter. On top of that, much of Golden Grove was built from the 1980s onward, so a lot of homes are now at the age where small gapsopen up around eaves, roof tiles and weep holes  exactly the entry points rats and

mice use to get into a roof void

The pests I deal with most in Golden Grove

Rodent control (rats and mice in roofs and wall cavities), spider control (especially around gardens, sheds and play equipment), ant control, cockroaches, and bee rescue. Golden Grove is also one of the suburbs where I do a lot of bee work — with all the flowering gardens and bushland nearby, swarms often settle in chimneys, walls and trees here

Bee-friendly, always

When bees turn up, I relocate them wherever I possibly can rather than killing them. I'm a registered swarm collector and work with local beekeepers. The photos on this page show a Golden Grove hive I removed and relocated, then cleaned up so the leftover honeycomb wouldn't draw a new swarm back. Bees matter, and you can protect your home without harming them.

After a bee relocation, a proper cleanup is essential. Leftover honey and wax strongly attract not only new bee swarms, but also Hive Beetles, ants, and rodents.

If left behind, these pests can cause significant issues:

  • Hive Beetles feed on the honey, causing it to ferment and leak through walls and ceilings, which can lead to staining and mould.

  • Ants and rodents are drawn to the honey and will often chew through plaster, insulation, and timber to reach it.

We offer a thorough hive and honey removal service to eliminate these risks, protect your home from further pest damage, and prevent future bees from returning to the same location.

My approach: prevention first

Spraying the pests you can see is only half the job, if you don't find and seal how they're getting in, they come back. So I start with a proper inspection:

- where are they entering

- what's drawing them in

- what needs sealing. Treatments are family safe, pet safe and focused outside where pests actually live and enter, so there's less exposure inside your home. The goal is a result that lasts, not a quick fix you're paying for again in a few months.

Common questions from Golden Grove locals

Is it safe for my kids and Pets?

Yes treatments are family and pet safe, and I focus on external areas.

Do you offer same-day service?

Often yes, across Golden Grove and the surrounding North East suburbs.

Do you really relocate bees instead of killing them?

Wherever it's possible, yes, relocation is always my first, second and third choice. We not only saved over 375,000 bees this 25-26 season but we actually fill up the beekeeper that couldn't handle any more bee hives that now is sending them to a beekeeper that pollinates cherry and almonds commercially.

I am a beekeeper in Tea Tree Gully and Werner regularly drops swarms of bees off at my house. The only reason he does this is to save the bees. It would be much easier for him to exterminate the bees rather than catching them and then bringing around to my home.
